Savage A17 Target Thumbhole 17 WSM 22" 8rd Gray Rifle

The A17 was the first semi auto rifle built from the ground up for the hot 17 HMR and 17 WSM rimfires, and this Target Thumbhole model is chambered in 17 WSM. Savage's delayed blowback action holds the bolt closed a beat longer than a straight blowback design, which keeps the high pressure 17 WSM cycling safely and reliably. The bolt is hard chromed with an oversized handle, and the receiver is case hardened and drilled and tapped for a scope.

Up front is a 22" fluted heavy barrel, button rifled with a 1:8 twist and finished in high luster black. The gray wood laminate thumbhole stock is stiff and gives a firm, upright grip, so the rifle stays steady on a rest. The user adjustable AccuTrigger provides a crisp, light pull, the safety is a crossbolt, and the rifle feeds from an 8 round rotary magazine. At 7.1 lbs and 41.5" long it carries fine into the field, and the 17 WSM's flat trajectory makes it a strong choice for prairie dogs, coyotes and other varmints well past normal rimfire range.
