About the Riley Defense RAK74 5.45x39
The Riley Defense RAK74 in teak is a stamped AK-74 pattern rifle in 5.45x39mm with a stained solid teak buttstock and matching upper and lower handguards. It runs a 16.25" chrome lined barrel threaded M24x1.5 RH and feeds from 30rd magazines. Overall length is 35.25". The teak furniture on a black oxide receiver gives it the look of the rifles that made the AK-74 famous.
The receiver is stamped steel and fully heat treated, and the trunnion, bolt and carrier are forged. Riley builds in a bolt hold open safety lever and an extended magazine release, and a machined side rail accepts a side mount optic. Front and rear sights are adjustable, the bayonet lug is in place, and a cleaning rod is included. The chrome lined bore resists corrosion and makes cleaning easier after a long day with steel cased ammunition. The 5.45x39mm round is light and fast with very little recoil, so the RAK74 is easy to shoot well and quick to get back on target. A good fit for a shooter building an AK collection or anyone who wants a classic wood AK-74 that is meant to be shot, not just displayed.
