Sig Sauer SIG516 G3 Freedom Package 5.56 NATO 16" 30rd Rifle

The 516 is Sig's piston gun, and the G3 is the third pass at it. Instead of routing gas back through a tube into the receiver, a short stroke piston drives the carrier from up front, which keeps the carbon and the heat out of the action. The gas block is adjustable across three positions, so the rifle can be tuned down for a suppressor or opened up when it is dirty. The 16" barrel is cold hammer forged with a Sig flash hider compensator on the muzzle.

Sig put real thought into the controls on the G3. Charging handles sit at both the rear and the side and neither one reciprocates, so a shooter running an optic can clear a malfunction without breaking position. Everything else is ambidextrous, the handguard is free float M-LOK with a full length top rail, high wear areas are steel reinforced, and the Matchlite Duo curved trigger is a step up from a standard AR trigger. The rifle comes with one 30rd magazine and a telescoping stock. Freedom Package is Sig's designation for this SKU.
