About this product

The Colt Competition Series is a Government size 1911 set up for the timer right out of the box. This one is chambered in 45 ACP with a 5" stainless National Match barrel, a blued carbon steel slide and frame, and the Series 70 firing system that competitive shooters like for its clean, simple trigger. The slide is serrated, the trigger is a 3 hole aluminum unit, the magazine holds 8 rounds, and spare fibers for the front sight are included.

The controls are where it earns the Competition name. An upswept beavertail grip safety and an undercut trigger guard let your hand ride high, which keeps the muzzle down between shots. Colt's dual recoil spring system softens felt recoil and extends spring life. Novak sights pair a red fiber optic front with a fully adjustable rear, so you can dial in your match load and see the dot fast on a stage. Scalloped blue G10 grips with the Colt logo lock in your grip without chewing up your hands. It is a 1911 you can run in USPSA, IDPA or a local steel match without sending it to a gunsmith first.
