Faxon Firearms ION-X Hyperlite 5.56 NATO 16" 30rd Rifle

The Faxon ION-X Hyperlite is one of the lightest production AR-15 rifles you can buy, right around 4.9 lbs. Faxon built it for competition shooters and anyone who wants a carbine that is fast to swing and soft to shoot. The 16" 5.56 NATO pencil profile barrel is threaded 1/2-28 and wears Faxon's slim 3 port muzzle brake, which is narrow enough to clear the gas block and barrel nut so either can come off without pulling the brake.

Most of the weight savings come from the parts list. The X-Tra Lite forged receiver set is skeletonized and has a tensioning screw. A carbon fiber M-LOK handguard covers the barrel. Inside is a Faxon Gunner lightweight M16 bolt carrier group with a superfinish, and a multi position adjustable gas block lets you tune it to run with or without a suppressor. It also has a single stage trigger, a Radian Talon ambidextrous safety and an MFT Minimalist stock. It takes standard AR-15 magazines with a 30 round capacity, and the light front end makes transitions between targets quick.
