CZ 457 Varmint 22 LR 20.5" 5rd Rifle

The CZ 457 Varmint is the standard heavy barrel version of CZ's 457 rimfire. Its 20.5" cold hammer forged barrel is a .866" cylinder with a 1:16" twist. The heavy profile gives good harmonics and lets the rifle shoot well with a wide range of 22 LR loads, which makes it an accurate choice for targets and small game. It feeds from a 5 round detachable polymer magazine.

The Turkish walnut varmint style stock has an American style comb for scope use and a wide, flat forend that rides a sandbag well, with laser cut stippling fore and aft. The 457 action brought real upgrades over the 455: a receiver mounted push to fire safety, an action almost an inch shorter and slab sided, two piece interlocking bottom metal, and a 60 degree bolt lift that clears larger scope eyepieces with lower rings. The trigger adjusts for weight, creep, and over travel. There are no iron sights, and the 11mm dovetail takes your rings. It uses the same swappable barrel system as the 455, so the rifle can grow with you.
