Weatherby Mark V DGR 460 Weatherby Mag 24" Rifle

The 460 Weatherby Magnum has held a place among the most powerful shoulder fired sporting cartridges since 1958, and the Mark V Dangerous Game Rifle is the gun Weatherby builds to contain it. The formula is simple and serious: a 24" barrel with a muzzle brake to tame the shove, a steel receiver drilled and tapped for stout scope mounts, and a Graphite Black finish over the metalwork to handle rain, salt air, and safari dust without complaint.

Everything about the Mark V action favors a hunter facing heavy game. The nine lug bolt locks up like a bank vault, the 54 degree bolt lift cycles fast without the bolt knob smacking the scope, and the Monte Carlo fiberglass stock with its raised comb keeps recoil coming straight back instead of climbing into the shooter's face. The 460 is a specialist's cartridge for buffalo, elephant, and the biggest bears on earth, and the DGR treats it with the respect it demands. Bring a shoulder pad for load development at the bench; in the field, with adrenaline running, the shot is the last thing anyone remembers feeling.
