Browning X-Bolt 2 Speed SPR 308 Win 18" 4rd Kryptek Obskura Rifle

The SPR runs a shorter barrel than the standard X-Bolt 2 Speed, and 18 inches of 308 Winchester is about as practical as a hunting rifle gets. The barrel is fluted in a sporter contour, threaded at the muzzle and fitted with a radial muzzle brake, with a thread protector included for shooters who would rather run a suppressor. Short barrel, light contour and a can is the reason this configuration exists, and the 308 gives up very little velocity at this length.

The Vari-Tech composite stock is the piece that separates the X-Bolt 2 from the rifle it replaced. Length of pull, comb height and grip angle all adjust, so the rifle can be set up for a shooter in a t shirt in September and reset for the same shooter in a parka in December. Comb height matters most once a scope goes on. This one wears the Kryptek Obskura Transitional pattern over a Smoked Bronze finished steel receiver and barrel, and the receiver comes drilled and tapped for a rail. Four rounds in the magazine is plenty of rifle for anything the 308 was built to hunt.
