Taurus Defender 605 357 Mag 3" 5rd Stainless Revolver

The Taurus Defender 605 takes the small frame 605 revolver and sets it up for carry and home defense. It is chambered in 357 Magnum, so it also fires 38 Special and 38 Special +P, and it holds 5 rounds. The 3" barrel gives a little more velocity and a longer sight radius than a snub nose, while an extended ejector rod clears empties more completely on a reload. The front sight is a night sight with an orange outline, paired with a fixed rear, so it is easy to pick up in daylight and in the dark.

Frame, barrel and cylinder are all stainless steel in a matte stainless finish. The action is double action/single action with an exposed hammer and a transfer bar safety, so you can fire with a long double action pull or cock the hammer for a lighter single action shot. Hogue rubber grips with finger grooves soak up 357 recoil and give a solid hold. It weighs 23.52 oz and measures 7.5" long and 4.8" tall, compact enough for a belt holster while still shooting full power loads.
