Steyr Scout Mk II 308 Win 19" 5rd Mud Rifle

The Steyr Scout Mk II is the second generation of Steyr's take on the scout rifle: a short, light, general purpose bolt gun meant to be carried all day and used for anything from a deer stand to a backcountry trek. This one is chambered in 308 Win with a 19" barrel and a 1:10 twist, and feeds from a 5 round detachable magazine. It weighs 6.6 lbs and measures 39.4" overall, so it stays handy in brush and in a truck cab.

The synthetic stock is finished in Steyr's Mud color, a flat dark earth shade, and has a recoil pad to take the edge off 308 recoil. The metal is finished black. A scout rifle is built around quick handling and fast follow up shots rather than raw weight and magnification, and the Scout keeps that idea intact: short enough to swing fast, light enough to carry, and chambered in a cartridge that handles most North American game. For hunters who want one rifle that carries easily and shoots well, it is a strong option.
