Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm 4.25" 10rd Pistol

This 1911 DS Prodigy is the 10 round version of Springfield's double stack 1911. It shares everything with the standard 4.25" Prodigy: a polymer grip module on a forged steel frame, a forged carbon steel slide, and a 4.25" forged stainless match grade bull barrel, all in black Cerakote. The difference is the magazines. It comes with two 10 round double stack mags.

The slide uses AOS, the Agency Optic System, with billet steel plates that put the dot at the correct height and carry an integral rear sight. A HEX Dragonfly compatible plate is included, and other plates are sold separately for different red dots. The frame has an ambidextrous thumb safety and an integrated Picatinny rail for a weapon light, and recoil runs on a two piece full length guide rod. Weight is about 32.5 oz. The trigger is a true single action 1911 trigger, so the break is short and crisp. It is a solid choice for a home defense gun or for getting into a 1911 that takes a red dot without sending the slide out for milling.
