About the Smith & Wesson Model
The Model 351 PD traces back to the Model 51 of 1960, the 22/32 Kit Gun Magnum meant to ride in a hunter's or fisherman's kit bag. The modern version keeps the small J-frame and the 22 Magnum chambering but builds the frame and cylinder from aluminum alloy, which brings the weight down to about 11 oz. The seven round cylinder gives you two more shots than a typical centerfire J-frame.
It has a 1.88 inch stainless steel barrel in matte black, an exposed hammer for double action or single action fire, a HiViz fiber optic orange front sight with a fixed U-notch rear, and finger grooved wood grips. Recoil from 22 WMR in a gun this size is mild, which makes it easy to shoot well. It works as a light carry revolver, a trail gun for snakes and small game, or a revolver for shooters who do not enjoy heavy recoil.
