Sig Sauer M400 Forge 5.56 NATO 16" 30rd Romeo-MSR Rifle

Sig sends the M400 Forge out with the optic already handled. A Romeo-MSR Gen II sits on the upper with a 2 MOA dot, so there is no shopping list between buying the rifle and zeroing it. Under it is a 16" cold hammer forged barrel running a mid length gas system, which is the softer, more forgiving gas timing on a 5.56 carbine and easier on the extractor than a carbine length port. The muzzle wears an A2 flash hider on standard 1/2-28 threads, so anything else can take its place later.

The TriggerTech two stage flat blade trigger is the part most shooters notice first. It has a defined wall and a clean break, a long way from the gritty trigger most AR-15s leave the factory with. A 15" free float M-LOK handguard runs nearly to the muzzle with a full length top rail, the charging handle is ambidextrous, and a Magpul SL-K collapsible stock sets length of pull across six positions. The receivers are forged aluminum with a black anodized finish, and cold hammer forging is the reason these barrels last: the rifling is formed under pressure instead of cut, which leaves a harder bore. One 30rd magazine comes with it.
