Shark Coast Tactical Holmes 5.56 NATO 16" 30rd Rifle

Holmes is the model name Shark Coast Tactical puts on this rifle, built on an aluminum receiver set with a Cerakote finish. The mechanical side is a familiar 5.56 NATO build: a 16" black nitride barrel with a threaded muzzle, a Picatinny rail across the receiver for an optic, and an M-LOK handguard that lets a light or a sling mount go wherever the support hand wants it rather than wherever a fixed rail section happens to land.

Magpul supplies the stock and the MOE grip, both black polymer, both parts that have been on enough rifles that replacements are never hard to find. The rifle takes a 30 round magazine. A 16" barrel is the sweet spot for a general purpose 5.56 rifle: short enough to work indoors and from a vehicle, long enough to keep the muzzle blast and the flash manageable without a device screwed on. The threaded muzzle is there when a brake, a hider or a can gets added later. What separates this one from a plain rifle is the finish work, and that is the honest reason to pick it over an unfinished gun in the same configuration.
