Pietta GWII Alchimista II 45 Colt 5.5" 6rd Revolver

The Pietta Great Western II Alchimista II takes the 1873 single action and fits it with an 1860 Army grip frame. The Army grip is longer and slimmer than the standard 1873 grip, and it points better and more naturally than the standard 1873 grip. Checkered walnut panels give it a firm hold, and the frame is color case hardened against a blued barrel and cylinder.

This model is chambered in 45 Colt with a 5.5" barrel and a six round cylinder. Pietta gave it a wider competition trigger that is set farther back in the guard, so there is room for a bigger finger, and a lower, wider hammer spur that is easier to reach when cocking quickly. Those changes suit anyone running a single action hard on the clock at a cowboy action match. The 5.5" barrel adds a little sight radius and front weight over the 4.75" guns, which helps hold steady on targets. A blade front sight and an exposed hammer complete a traditional setup.
