Pietta Great Western II Premier 357 Mag 4.75" 6rd Revolver

The Great Western II Premier is Pietta's take on the 1873 single action, and the finish work is where it separates itself. The frame is color case hardened and the barrel is blued, the pairing this pattern has worn since it was new. The 4.75 inch barrel is the classic gunfighter length, short enough to clear leather quickly and still long enough to sit steady in the hand at the end of a swing.

Chambered in 357 Magnum, the cylinder holds 6 rounds and will also run 38 Special, which keeps practice cheap and easy on the hand. Loading and unloading follow the original pattern: open the gate, index the cylinder one chamber at a time, and use the ejector rod to push the empties clear. Sights are the fixed pattern the 1873 has always used, a blade up front and a groove in the top strap, and they are as fast at conversational distance now as they were then. Nothing about this revolver is modern, and that is the point. It shoots like a single action should and the case colors make it worth looking at between strings.
