Maxim Defense MD9 K SCW 9mm 4.5" Arid Brown Pistol

Maxim Defense built the MD9 as an AR9 style gun for people who need real capability out of something that fits in a bag. This is the K configuration with the SCW brace, a 4.5 inch barrel, and Maxim's Arid Brown finish across the receiver and grip. The SCW system is what makes the package work: it collapses far shorter than a standard buffer tube setup without giving up a proper cheek weld when extended.

The barrel is free floating inside Maxim's own handguard, which uses the company's M-Rax and M-Slot mounting rather than covering the tube in rails nobody uses. Up front is the MD Hatebrake, which does real work keeping a short 9mm barrel from throwing muzzle blast back at the shooter. The controls are set up for either hand with an ambidextrous magazine release, ambidextrous sling mounts and a last round bolt hold open, and there is a Radian charging handle in place from the start. It feeds from Glock 9mm pattern magazines, G19 length and longer, which means spares are cheap and available anywhere. The aluminum receiver is anodized and the barrel is nitride finished for wear resistance.
