Howa M1500 Fence Line 25 Creedmoor 22" 5rd Gray Light Camo Rifle

The 25 Creedmoor gives the quarter bore a modern case. Long, heavy for caliber .257 bullets loaded in a short action cartridge shoot flat, hold their line in wind, and recoil about like a 243, which makes it an easy round to shoot well on deer and antelope. Howa's Fence Line puts it in a 22" hammer forged barrel that is threaded at the muzzle and wears a brake, with a capacity of five rounds.

Underneath is the Howa 1500 barreled action, a design that has been earning its keep since 1979. The 90 degree bolt throw clears low mounted scopes, dual locking lugs and an M16 style extractor keep it feeding and ejecting under load, and the three position safety allows unloading with the striker blocked. The HACT two stage trigger breaks cleanly enough for field shooting without being fussy. Tungsten gray metalwork pairs with a Gray Light camo stock that is pillar bedded so the barreled action sits the same way every time it goes back together. Howa guarantees 1 inch groups at 100 yards, which is a real number rather than a marketing line, and the threaded muzzle leaves room for a suppressor later.
