Faxon Firearms ION Ultralight 5.56 NATO 16" 30rd Rifle

The Faxon ION Ultralight is a sub 5 lb class AR-15 built around Faxon's patented integral muzzle device barrel. The 3 port brake is machined into the same piece of steel as the pencil profile barrel, so there is no threaded joint, no pin and weld, and the barrel still measures a legal 16" overall. The brake cannot be removed, so this rifle is not set up for a muzzle mounted suppressor.

Faxon put the rest of the weight budget into upgrades. You get a forged receiver set with a tensioning screw, a Gunner lightweight bolt carrier group with a superfinish, a 13" carbon fiber M-LOK handguard and a multi position adjustable gas block for tuning to your ammo. The trigger is a single stage, the charging handle is ambidextrous and the safety is a Radian Talon ambi 45/90 selector. A six position MFT Minimalist stock rounds it out. Capacity is 30 rounds with standard AR-15 magazines. It is optic ready with no iron sights, and the light, quick handling makes it a good first rifle for 3 gun and practical matches.
