Colt M5 SCW 5.56 NATO 10.3" Folding Stock SBR

Colt built this one on the updated M5 architecture, which stiffens the receiver and the rail while keeping the gun compatible with standard accessories. The barrel is 10.3 inches, chrome lined and a heavy profile, running a carbine length direct impingement gas system. The bolt carrier group is mil spec and chrome lined rather than a lightweight alternative.

Controls are ambidextrous. The charging handle is a Radian Raptor and the magazine catch works from either side, which matters more on a gun this short, where the support hand ends up closer to the controls than it does on a carbine. The stock folds to the side, dropping the overall length far enough that the rifle fits a pack or a vehicle bag, and it folds without giving up the standard accessory compatibility the M5 receiver keeps. What Colt is after here is the next step for the platform: a compact, maneuverable rifle that still runs the same magazines, optics and rail accessories as a full size gun. In black, on a 10.3 inch barrel, it is built for work in tight spaces rather than distance.
