Colt M5 SCW 5.56 NATO 10.3" SBR

Colt built the M5 SCW on its updated M5 architecture, which stiffens the receiver and rail relationship while keeping the gun compatible with the standard accessories already in your drawer. The 10.3" barrel is chrome lined and cut to a heavy profile, so it holds up to strings of fire better than a pencil barrel and gives the short gun a little weight out front. The gas system is carbine length direct impingement, the arrangement this platform has used for decades and the one every armorer already knows how to service.

Controls are set up for either hand: an ambidextrous Radian Raptor charging handle and an ambidextrous magazine catch, both of which matter more on a short gun that gets run from awkward positions and inside vehicles. The bolt carrier group is mil spec and chrome lined. At 10.3" this is a short barrel rifle rather than a braced pistol. Add an optic and a light and it is a complete package for tight spaces.
