Colt 1911 Competition 45 ACP 5" 8rd Stainless Pistol

The Colt Competition is a 1911 built for the clock. This stainless model is chambered in 45 ACP with a 5" Colt National Match barrel and an 8 round magazine, and it runs the updated Series 70 firing system that competitive shooters favor for a clean trigger. It weighs about 36 ounces unloaded, enough to keep the muzzle settled between shots.

The slide is cut for optics. From the factory it wears a black nitride cover plate with a fixed serrated rear sight in a Glock dovetail, and aftermarket plates let you mount the red dot you prefer. Up front is a Novak red fiber optic sight. Custom checkered blue G10 grips with scallops, an upswept beavertail grip safety and an undercut trigger guard keep your hand high and the gun low in the hand. The trigger is a three hole aluminum unit, and the extended thumb safety is easy to ride. A dual spring recoil system cuts felt recoil and extends spring life. It is ready for a match as it sits, and ready for a dot when you are.
