Browning BAR MK4 Hunter 30-06 Sprg 22" 4rd Mossy Oak Bottomland Rifle

Browning has been building the BAR as a big game autoloader since 1967, and the MK4 Hunter is the current version of that gun. This one is chambered in 30-06 Springfield with a four round detachable box magazine and a 22" fluted barrel in a non reflective matte blued finish. Gas operation soaks up a good share of the recoil, which is the whole reason hunters pick a BAR over a bolt gun. A second shot on a moving animal becomes realistic instead of hopeful. The receiver is lightweight aluminum alloy and comes drilled and tapped, so mounting a scope base takes a screwdriver and nothing else.

Mossy Oak Bottomland wraps the composite stock and forearm. It is an old pattern built on gray and brown bark tones, and it still works in hardwood bottoms, flooded timber, and early season brush. Overmolded gripping panels give you something to hold with wet hands, and the raised SoftFlex cheek pad keeps your face planted on the comb through recoil. The stock is shim adjustable for drop and cast, which matters more on a rifle you shoot quickly than most hunters admit. Ten minutes at the kitchen table with the shim set puts the comb where your eye naturally lands, and after that the rifle points where you look.
