Browning BAR MK3 Speed 30-06 Sprg 22" 4rd OVIX Rifle

The BAR MK3 Speed is the hunting BAR dressed for hard use: Smoked Bronze Cerakote on the metal and Browning's OVIX camo on a composite stock that shrugs off rain and mud. This one is chambered in 30-06 Springfield, still one of the most useful big game cartridges ever made with a 22 inch fluted barrel. Cartridges feed from a detachable 4 round box magazine that attaches to the hinged floorplate, and the rifle weighs about 7.3 lbs.

The BAR runs on a short stroke gas piston with a strong rotary bolt, the design that gave it a reputation for bolt action accuracy in an autoloader. The gas system also takes a good bite out of felt recoil, which helps when you need a fast second shot on a running deer or hog. The receiver is a lightweight alloy and the barrel is hammer forged. The composite stock is shim adjustable, has overmolded grip panels and an Inflex recoil pad, and carries sling swivel studs. There are no iron sights; the receiver is drilled and tapped for a scope. The Speed name marks Browning's lighter, tougher line built for hunters who cover ground.
