About the Bergara B-14 HMR 25
The B-14 HMR takes the barreled action Bergara uses across the B-14 line and drops it into a stock with a mini chassis molded inside. That chassis gives the action a rigid, repeatable bedding surface and lets the barrel float free of the forend. The comb and the length of pull both adjust, so the rifle can be set for a big scope in prone or shortened up for a heavy coat in a stand. QD flush cups are built into the stock for a sling or a bipod, and the receiver is drilled and tapped for bases.
This one is chambered in 25 Creedmoor, the quarter bore version of the Creedmoor case, and it pairs sensibly with the 24 inch barrel here since the longer tube gives the powder column room to work. Modern .257 caliber bullets are what make the cartridge interesting; they hold speed well and carry good weight for their diameter without asking much of the shooter's shoulder. The muzzle is threaded for a brake or a suppressor, and the barrel runs a No. 6 taper, heavy enough to hold zero through a string of shots without turning the rifle into a bench gun. The detachable AICS pattern magazine holds 5 rounds.
