Barrett REC7 DI 5.56 NATO 16" 30rd Rifle

The Barrett REC7 DI is a 5.56 NATO carbine built for work where a malfunction is not an option. It runs a direct impingement, mid length gas system that stays reliable with or without a suppressor. The upper and lower receivers are machined from aluminum and hardcoat anodized, and the 16" cold hammer forged, chrome lined barrel has a 1:7" twist. The muzzle is threaded 1/2-28 and wears a three prong flash hider.

Barrett did not cut corners on the parts list. The trigger is an ALG QMS, the gas block comes from Geissele, and the stock and pistol grip are Magpul. A slim Barrett handguard with M-LOK slots gives room for lights, lasers and grips, and the bolt carrier group is magnesium phosphate coated. Controls include a mil spec charging handle and an ambidextrous safety. The rifle weighs 6.6 lbs, measures 33" overall and comes with a 30 round magazine. It is a duty grade AR-15 from a company better known for its 50 BMG rifles, and it carries that name well.
