Winchester Xpert Thumbhole Target SR 17 WSM 18" 8rd Gray Laminate Rifle

The Xpert Thumbhole Target SR is Winchester's answer for shooters who want a rimfire that behaves like a target rifle. The barrel is a button rifled bull profile cut with a Bentz style chamber, the compromise chambering that gives better accuracy than a sporting chamber without the feeding trouble of a true match chamber. The muzzle is threaded 1/2-28 and comes with a knurled thread protector, so a suppressor or a brake goes on without any machining. Chambering is 17 WSM, the fastest of the rimfires and flat enough to make hits well past where a 22 WMR gives up.

The stock is gray laminate with a thumbhole grip and an adjustable comb, which means cheek weld can be set to the optic instead of the other way around. Laminate is heavier than synthetic, and on a target rifle that is the point rather than a compromise. Winchester's Rimfire M.O.A. trigger handles the fire control. A Picatinny optics base comes fitted to the steel receiver rather than leaving the mounting job to the buyer, and the receiver is drilled and tapped underneath it. Sling swivel studs are already in place, an oversize bolt knob speeds up the cycle, and the muzzle wears a target crown. Magazine capacity is eight.
