Weatherby Orion Sporting 12 GA 30" Shotgun

The Orion Sporting is Weatherby's over/under for the clays course that still earns its keep in the field. It has a traditional boxlock action in a forged steel receiver with a low profile, 30 inch chrome lined barrels with 3 inch chambers, and a tapered ventilated top rib with a fiber optic front sight. The barrels are ported to cut muzzle rise and help you get onto the second bird faster.

Fit is where the Sporting differs from a field gun. The A grade walnut stock has an adjustable comb, so you can dial in your cheek weld and line your eye up with the rib. Five knurled extended choke tubes come with it: Skeet, Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified and Full, so you can swap for crossers, incomers or long passing shots without a wrench. Automatic ejectors throw empties clear for quick reloads, and the top tang safety works for right and left handed shooters. At about 7.5 pounds it swings smoothly through the target without feeling sluggish, and the high gloss walnut with diamond point checkering looks as good as it shoots. It also makes a fine pheasant or dove gun.
