Maverick 88 Security 12 GA 20" 7rd Shotgun

The Maverick 88 Security is the plain, hard working pump gun from Mossberg's Maverick line. This version has a 20" blued barrel with a fixed Cylinder Bore and a brass front bead, a 3" chamber, and a magazine tube that holds seven shells, so eight rounds on board with one chambered. The black synthetic stock has a ribbed forearm and a recoil pad, with a 14.5" length of pull.

Inside it is classic Mossberg pump design: dual extractors, twin action bars, an anti jam elevator and positive steel to steel lockup. The safety is a crossbolt in the trigger guard rather than the tang safety on the 500 series. The 88 accepts many Mossberg 500 accessory stocks, barrels and Accu-Choke tubes within the same gauge and capacity, so there is room to set it up your way later. A Cylinder Bore choke throws open buckshot patterns at room distances and handles slugs without trouble. Overall length is 41". It is an easy first shotgun for the house or the truck, and a simple pump that takes years of neglect.
