Weatherby Mark V Backcountry 2.0 280 AI 24" 4rd Rifle

The Weatherby Mark V Backcountry 2.0 builds on the classic steel Mark V action with a list of weight saving updates. This one is chambered in 280 Ackley Improved with a 24" fluted, threaded barrel fitted with Weatherby's Accubrake ST, and its hinged floorplate magazine holds 4 rounds. The barrel, receiver and trigger guard wear a Patriot Brown Cerakote finish.

The stock is a carbon fiber Peak 44 Blacktooth with a brown sponge pattern over black, and it carries Weatherby's 3DHEX recoil pad, a 3D printed pad with interlocking voids that collapse progressively under recoil. Spiral fluting on the bolt body trims weight and smooths bolt travel, and the threaded bolt handle wears a light, skeletonized aluminum knob. A TriggerTech trigger and a thumb safety handle the controls on this right hand rifle, and swivel studs are in place for a sling. The whole rifle weighs about 5.4 lbs, light enough for steep mountain hunts, while the 280 Ackley Improved gives it plenty of reach for elk and mule deer.
