Flat point bullets cut a full diameter hole in paper, which makes scoring easy and makes hits on steel obvious. Recoil is gentle, so this is a sensible load for teaching a new shooter on a revolver or for putting a lot of rounds through a lightweight carry gun without flinching by round thirty.
