Tisas 1911A1 Tank Commander 45 ACP 4.25" 7rd Pistol

The Tank Commander is Tisas' Commander length take on the GI 1911A1. The frame is forged carbon steel in full size, the slide is forged and cut to Commander length behind a 4.25" barrel, and the internals are Series 70, which is the older and simpler lockwork without a firing pin block sitting in the trigger path. Walnut grips, a flat mainspring housing and an updated front and rear sight design keep the profile close to what a soldier would have carried while fixing the two things everyone complained about on issue guns.

Chambered in 45 ACP with two 7rd magazines in the box, this is a service pistol in the traditional sense. The all steel build puts the weight exactly where it belongs for shooting a big bore cartridge, and the single action trigger is the reason 1911 shooters happily carry that weight around. Tisas packs each pistol in a lockable hard case with a fitted foam insert, a cleaning kit, a bushing wrench, a trigger lock and the manual. The finish is a GI style Cerakote in black. For a shooter who wants the look and feel of a wartime 1911 without hunting down a collectible, this is about as close as a current production gun gets.
