About the Tisas 1911 Duty 9
The Duty 9 DS Comp is the 5 inch version of Tisas's double stack 1911 in 9mm. Same 17 round frame, same integrated compensator cut into the bull barrel, same optic ready slide, with an extra three quarters of an inch of barrel and slide out front. That length adds weight where it does the most good and stretches the sight radius for anyone still running irons.
A 9mm 1911 with a compensator and a steel frame is about as flat shooting as a service size pistol gets. The gun weighs enough to soak up the recoil impulse, the comp redirects gas upward to hold the muzzle down, and the single action trigger breaks short and clean. Tisas covers the steel in a QPQ finish and fits a titanium firing pin. There is a Picatinny rail on the dust cover for a light, and the slide is milled for a micro red dot. Two 17 round magazines come with it. Competition shooters looking for an entry point into the double stack 1911 world and anyone who wants a full size house gun with a soft shooting comp are looking at the same pistol.
