About this product
The Taylor's Gambler is an 1873 Cattleman single action revolver in 45 Colt, built by Uberti on the new model forged frame. It has a 5.5" blued barrel, a blued 6 round cylinder, a color case hardened steel frame and a fancy checkered walnut grip with an upgraded checkering pattern. Sights are a blade front and notch rear.
The grip is the reason to pick the Gambler. Most 1873 pattern revolvers come with smooth walnut, and smooth wood can get slick in a sweaty hand or under recoil from full power 45 Colt. The checkering here gives a surer hold and a more consistent grip from shot to shot without changing the classic shape. Everything else is the traditional Cattleman: a loading gate, a rod ejector, a case hardened frame with blued steel parts, and the balance a 5.5" barrel gives a single action. The forged frame holds up to steady shooting, so it works as well on the cowboy action line as it does on the range. It also pairs well with a 45 Colt lever rifle if you want one round for both guns.
