Taylor's 1873 Cattleman 357 Mag 4.75" 6rd Faux Stag Revolver

This Taylor's 1873 Cattleman is a Pietta built single action revolver chambered in 357 Magnum, with a 4.75" blued round barrel and a blued half fluted 6 round cylinder. The steel frame is color case hardened, the backstrap and triggerguard are brass, and the grip is a two piece imitation stag in the Navy size. It also fires 38 Special, which makes for soft shooting practice.

The 4.75" barrel is the classic gunfighter length: short enough to clear leather quickly and carry comfortably, long enough to balance well in the hand. Brass grip straps against a case hardened frame and imitation stag panels give it the dressed up look of a frontier gun that somebody cared about, without the fragility of real antler. Under the looks it is a traditional 1873 pattern action with a loading gate, an ejector rod, a fixed blade front sight and a notch rear sight in the frame. It has a manual cylinder pin safety and a traditional firing pin on the hammer, so keep the hammer down on an empty chamber. At about 37.6 oz it soaks up 357 recoil well.
