Taurus Judge 45 Colt/410 6.5" 5rd Two Tone Revolver

The Judge created its own category and has not really been challenged since. The cylinder is long enough to take 2.5" 410 shells and the chamber throats are cut for 45 Colt, so one five shot revolver covers shot loads at conversational distance and a heavy lead bullet when something more is called for. That combination is why these end up in trucks, barns, tackle boxes and nightstands rather than in gun safes.

The 6.5" barrel is the version that makes the most sense with shot. Pellets need barrel length to settle down, and the longer tube tightens 410 patterns noticeably over the snub guns while giving 45 Colt more room to build velocity. Taurus rebuilt the Judge on a new platform with a fiber optic front sight, a fixed rear, a transfer bar safety, and a soft rubber grip that spreads recoil across the palm instead of concentrating it in the web of the hand. The finish is two tone, a stainless barrel and frame set against a black cylinder. Five rounds, single action or double action, and a manual of arms anyone who has run a revolver already knows.
