Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy 9mm 4.25" 17/20rd Coyote Pistol

The 1911 DS Prodigy brings double stack 9mm capacity to the 1911, and this one is dressed in Coyote Brown Cerakote over a forged carbon steel slide and frame. A polymer grip module bolts to the steel frame and takes 17 and 20 round magazines, one of each included. The 4.25" forged stainless bull barrel has an 11 degree crown for match level accuracy, and a two piece full length guide rod handles recoil.

The slide is optics ready through Springfield's AOS, the Agency Optic System. Each plate is machined to hold the dot at the right height and includes an integral rear sight, so the irons still line up. This pistol comes with a HEX Dragonfly compatible plate, and other plates are sold separately. Sights out of the box are a fiber optic front and a black serrated rear. The controls are classic 1911 with a beavertail grip safety and thumb safety. At about 32.5 oz, it carries more weight than a polymer gun, and that steel is a big reason it shoots so flat. The brown finish is a nice change from all black for a range or competition gun.
