Springfield Armory Echelon Alpha 4.0C 9mm 4" 15rd Pistol

The Echelon Alpha 4.0C is the entry point into Springfield's Echelon line and it keeps the parts that matter. The Central Operating Group is the serialized firearm, so the grip module and the slide are components that get swapped as needs change rather than being locked to one configuration for the life of the gun. That is the same idea that made the modern modular service pistols work, applied here to a compact carry gun.

The slide is cut with the Variable Interface System, which takes most popular red dots directly with no adapter plate stack lifting the optic up off the slide. Sights are the U-Dot arrangement, a front dot over a rear U notch, which the eye lines up faster than three dots in a row under pressure. The 4" barrel is hammer forged with a Melonite finish and sits in a compact frame that carries well while still giving a full firing grip. Capacity is 15 rounds in a stainless steel magazine, and the grip module wears Springfield's adaptive texture, which bites harder as grip pressure goes up instead of chewing on a shirt the rest of the time.
