Springfield Armory Echelon 4.0C 9mm 4" 15rd FDE Gear Pac Pistol

The Echelon 4.0C splits the difference between a duty gun and a carry gun. Springfield Armory kept the full size Echelon fire control group, cut the barrel to 4", and trimmed the grip down to something that disappears under a jacket. The notable part of the slide is the Variable Interface System, a mounting pattern that takes most red dot footprints directly with no plate in between, so the optic sits as low as the slide allows and there is one less screw joint to check before a range trip. Tritium front and tactical rack rear U-Dot irons cover you if the dot goes dark.

This is the 15rd configuration. That is a middle ground grip length, short enough to conceal and long enough to fill a full firing grip for most hands. The billet machined slide and the grip module both wear flat dark earth. Controls are ambidextrous where it counts, with a slide stop on both sides and a magazine release that swaps sides in about a minute with a punch. The trigger face is flat with a clean break and a short reset, and slide serrations run front and rear for press checks. The Gear Pac configuration bundles the pistol with the accessory package Springfield puts together for it. It is a straightforward carry pistol built around a good optic mount and honest iron sights.
