Springfield Armory 1911 9mm 4.25" 9rd 25 Years of Remembrance Pistol

SK Guns builds this one on a Springfield Armory 1911 Commander in 9mm and then turns the slide into a memorial. The left side carries a detailed rendering of the Twin Towers with 25 Years of Remembrance and the date 09/11/2026. The right side reads We Will Never Forget above 09/11/2001. Custom scroll engraving with gold borders runs across the rest of the gun. It is a commemorative piece, but nothing underneath the engraving was cheapened to get there.

Frame and slide are forged carbon steel finished in satin DLC, with 20 LPI checkering on the front strap and custom milled diamond serrations cut into the slide. Sights are a green fiber optic front with window cuts and a black serrated rear. A Picatinny rail sits under the dust cover, a one piece guide rod runs the recoil spring, and the mainspring housing is a forged Stan Chen unit. Controls are the ones John Browning laid out and nobody has meaningfully improved on: single action trigger, thumb safety, grip safety. Magazine capacity is 9 rounds in a single stack, and the 4.25" Commander length pulls the balance back into the hands compared to a 5" Government gun. Most of these will be bought to be kept, but it is a real 1911 underneath and it will shoot like one.
