The Smith & Wesson M&P15 Sport II OR CA Compliant brings the AR-15 platform into a California-legal 5.56x45mm NATO semi-auto rifle that's geared toward recreational shooting, training and duty-style applications while meeting state restrictions; with a 16" 4140 steel barrel, 1:9" twist, threaded muzzle with cap and Armornite finish, this 6.5 lb rifle delivers dependable accuracy and corrosion resistance, and the optics-ready upper makes mounting red dots or low-power scopes fast and intuitive. The Sport II series features a forged integral trigger guard, ambidextrous safety selector and a fixed black synthetic stock for a stable cheek weld and consistent length of pull, plus a gas block with an integral Picatinny-style rail and a QD sling swivel attachment point on the bottom of the gas block for practical accessory mounting. With a 10+1 capacity, chromed firing pin, forward assist, dust cover and a 35" overall length, this right-hand-oriented M&P15 is durable, user-friendly and easy to maintain; as an FFL-required firearm it's a solid choice for range days, marksmanship practice and professionals seeking a rugged, compliant AR platform.
