Savage 110 Ridge Hunter 300 HAM'R 16.5" 10rd Flat Dark Gray Rifle

300 HAM'R was drawn up to push 30 caliber hunting bullets out of a short barrel without magnum recoil or magnum noise, and a 16.5" 110 Ridge Hunter is a natural place to put it. The barrel is a heavy contour, which steadies the rifle in the offhand and soaks up heat over a string of shots, and the short length keeps it out of the brush when a shooter is moving through cover.

The magazine holds 10 rounds, so follow up shots are there for hog work where one animal is rarely the only one in the field. Savage sets the barreled action in a flat dark gray synthetic stock, and the adjustable length of pull means the rifle fits a tall shooter in a light shirt and a smaller one buried in insulation. The synthetic shell takes the knocks that come with hunting from a truck or a UTV. It is a compact, plain spoken rifle built around a cartridge that does most of its work inside 200 yards.
