Ruger Mini-14 Tactical 5.56 NATO 16.12" 20rd Stainless Rifle

The Ruger Mini-14 Tactical is the compact, threaded barrel member of the Mini-14 family, and model 5819 pairs a matte stainless steel receiver and 16.12" barrel with a black synthetic fixed stock. It is chambered in 5.56 NATO, so it also handles 223 Remington, and it comes with two 20rd magazines.

The Garand style action uses a breech bolt locking system and a fixed piston gas system with a self cleaning moving gas cylinder, a design built to keep running in dust, mud and heat. The cold hammer forged barrel is threaded 1/2-28 with a flash suppressor installed, so a brake or suppressor goes on easily. Sights are a ghost ring adjustable rear aperture and a protected, non glare blade front. For glass, the receiver has integral scope mounts machined into the solid steel for the included scope rings, and it is drilled and tapped for the included Picatinny rail. With a 13" length of pull and a 36.75" overall length, the rifle is short and quick to shoulder, and at 6.7 lbs it is easy to carry all day. That mix makes it a good fit for ranch work, varmint control, patrol use and home defense, in a package that looks more like a classic rifle than a modern sporting rifle.
