Mossberg 500 Field/Deer 12 GA 28"/24" 5rd Cantilever Shotgun

This Mossberg 500 Combo is the one to get if you plan to put a scope on your slug gun. The 24" Slugster barrel has a fully rifled bore and an integral cantilever scope mount, so the optic rides on the barrel and stays with it when you pull it off. The 28" vent rib barrel has dual bead sights and takes Accu-Set choke tubes for birds and clays. Both are 12 gauge with a 3" chamber, and the magazine holds 5rd.

The stock is the other reason to look at this version. The checkered wood dual comb stock has two comb heights, one for each barrel setup. Standard Mossberg pump features include dual extractors, twin action bars, steel to steel lockup and an anti jam elevator, and the top tang safety works for either hand. Metal is blued, and sling swivel studs and a recoil pad are on the stock. At 7.5 lbs it handles a morning of field loads and a few slugs at the bench without any trouble.
