About the Kimber 2K11 Pro Comp
Kimber built the 2K11 as a double stack 1911 for people who shoot a lot and want the recoil gone. The Pro Comp does it with a compensator machined directly into the slide and barrel rather than bolted on at the muzzle, so there is no threaded adapter to shoot loose and no extra length hanging off the front. Muzzle rise flattens out and the dot comes back where you left it. Each gun is assembled one at a time by Kimber technicians, which is where the slide to frame fit comes from.
The frame is black stainless steel with a beavertail, and Kimber's carbon fiber infused molded grip cuts weight while keeping a texture that will not chew up a cover garment. The slide is optic ready with lightening cuts and serrations, and a fixed rear sight comes installed so the gun is usable before you buy a dot. Barrel length is 4.25", the Pro length, which pulls the balance point back toward the hands compared to the 5" gun. Two 19rd magazines are in the box. Single action trigger, thumb safety, grip safety, 1911 controls throughout.
