About the Kimber 2K11 9mm 5"
The 2K11 is Kimber's double stack 1911, built on a stainless steel frame with a beavertail and a Picatinny rail under the dust cover. It is a bigger gun in the hand than a single stack, which is the whole point of the double stack layout: more rounds in the grip without giving up the 1911 trigger. The 5 inch bull barrel carries a Coyote PVD finish and the slide flats are DLC brush polished, so the pistol reads as more than a plain black gun without any of the cosmetic noise that usually comes with that.
The slide is cut with lightening windows and serrations and comes optic ready on an RMR footprint with a cover plate installed. A TAG Precision FiberLok 2 fiber optic front sight sits ahead of it, so the pistol is usable the day you open the box and stays usable with a dot mounted. Kimber fits a GT Match Grade trigger, which is the part that separates a double stack 1911 from a striker fired duty gun in feel: a short, straight press with a clean break and a reset you can hold against. Three 10 round magazines come with the pistol, and 9mm keeps practice cheap enough that the trigger is worth learning properly.
