Howa M1500 Fence Line Mini 300 BLK 16.25" 5rd Prairie Reaper Rifle

Howa has been building the M1500 action in Japan since 1979, and the Fence Line rifles drop that action into a package meant for ranch work, predator calling, and riding around in a truck. This one uses the Mini Action, a receiver shortened to fit short cartridges so the rifle carries less weight and the bolt travels a shorter distance on every cycle. The chambering is 300 AAC Blackout out of a 16.25" hammer forged barrel with a threaded muzzle, which is the combination this cartridge was drawn up for.

300 BLK in a bolt gun is a suppressor cartridge first. Nothing cycles, so with subsonic loads and a can on the muzzle the loudest thing on the rifle is the firing pin. Supersonic loads still give you a useful hog and deer gun inside 200 yards in a rifle short enough to swing around inside a blind. Howa's HACT two stage trigger, a 90 degree bolt lift with dual locking lugs, an M16 pattern extractor and a three position safety all come standard, and the receiver is drilled and tapped for bases. The detachable magazine holds five. Metal work is burnt bronze and the synthetic stock wears the Prairie Reaper camo pattern. The action is guaranteed to group one inch or better at 100 yards with match ammunition.
