Henry Long Ranger Big Woods 308 Win 18.5" 4rd Rifle

The Long Ranger is Henry's answer to a lever gun that shoots pointed bullets: a geared lever action with a rotating bolt head and a detachable box magazine, so it handles 308 Win at full pressure with spitzer bullets instead of the flat nose loads a tube magazine demands. The Big Woods Carbine was put together with the trackers at Big Woods Bucks for still hunting and tracking whitetails through thick timber, and every choice on the rifle points that direction.

The barrel is 18.5" of round blued steel, short enough to swing between trees and get on a deer that is already moving. Sights are a Skinner peep at the rear and an orange fiber optic up front, a combination that works fast in low light and never needs a battery. The receiver is aluminum and drilled and tapped, so a scope can go on later if the hunting changes. American walnut furniture with a straight grip stock keeps the weight down and the lines traditional, and the buttstock carries an engraved and colored Big Woods Bucks logo. Sling swivel studs are already installed, which matters on a rifle meant to be carried for miles rather than set on a bench. Four rounds in the magazine and a lever throw that runs while the rifle stays on the shoulder.
