Henry H1 Frontier Carbine 22 WMR 16.5" 10rd Large Loop Rifle

The Frontier Carbine is the Henry rimfire that looks the part. Octagon barrel, straight grip American walnut, a brass bead up front and a fully adjustable semi buckhorn rear with a diamond insert, and a large loop lever that clears a gloved hand. At 16.5" the barrel is short and lively, the whole rifle runs about six pounds, and it handles like something meant to ride in a scabbard rather than sit in a safe.

In 22 WMR it holds 10rd in the tube. The Magnum is the right rimfire for this rifle. It reaches further than a 22 LR, carries enough punch for squirrels, rabbits and a close range coyote, and pairs naturally with iron sights out to the distances a carbine like this actually gets used. The receiver is grooved for 3/8" rimfire rings if a small scope is wanted, though this is a gun that deserves to be shot with the sights it came with. Henry lever action rimfires have a long reputation for feeding whatever you drop in the tube and running smooth from the first box on, and the Frontier is the one in the lineup that looks like it wandered in from another century.
