Henry Mare's Leg 22 S/L/LR 12.875" 10rd Pistol

The Mare's Leg is Henry's cut down lever gun, a handgun built from their classic H001 rimfire rifle. It has a shortened walnut buttstock and barrel so it can be carried like a big pistol, but it still cycles with the speed of a lever action. This version shoots 22 Short, 22 Long and 22 LR, and the tubular magazine holds 10 rounds of 22 LR or 16 rounds of 22 Short.

The 12.875 inch round barrel is blued steel. A large loop lever makes it easy to work one handed or with a gloved hand, and it adds plenty of Western style. Sights are a fully adjustable rear and a hooded blade front, and the receiver is grooved for 3/8 inch ring mounts if you want to add an optic. The furniture is handcrafted American walnut. At about 4.45 pounds and 25 inches overall it is compact, quick handling and a lot of fun at the range. Because it is a pistol, it is shot from the hands, not the shoulder, which is part of the appeal: rimfire recoil keeps it easy to control while you get a feel for running a lever from the hip or in a two hand hold.
